I'm always amazed by how the teeniest, tiniest detail can really make a huge difference.
I just painted over the patch job on the wall of our bathroom. The patch job that was just filled maybe 2 weeks ago tops, in the spot where there have been holes in the wall from where the prior owners' TP dispenser had been attached.
Those holes have been staring at me multiple times a day whenever I'm perched upon our porcelain god for the however-many-years that we've inhabited this place. And I have a shy bladder.
And now? Now I get to do my business in peace, sans nosey wall holes. It's nice. It feels much less likely that I'm about to unwittingly appear in some bad porn flick with glory holes as its topic-du-jour.

Glory, Glory, Holeallujah! I totally know what you mean about those tiny details. Apartment living gives one a lot of opportunities to have issues with all kinds of things that aren't-quite-right. Lucky you to be able to do something about it- how empowering to be able to make your home more homey!
Great post. I can relate to the fear of appearing in bad porn flicks. How about uploading a picture of said patch and adding to this post?
Samara: empowering sometimes, but completely overwhelming at other times.
B: done!
I tried to comment before but it didn't go through... Anyway, congrats on your first blog! And you even managed to put the words "glory hole" into it. You know I have high expectations for subsequent entries. She said "entries" huh huh.
